Delilah Herro went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Carmel to a 7-1 victory Thursday, doubling once and adding three singles in a dominant offensive performance.
Carmel answered early behind Herro’s RBI single before taking control in the third. An error, a walk to Annabella Schroeder, and an Avery Houston fielder’s choice each brought in a run to give the Padres the lead for good.
In her freshman varsity debut, Olivia Tringali was electric in the circle, striking out 14 over a complete game while allowing just one run on two hits.
Carmel totaled 11 hits on the day, with Sydney Ozel adding two, and the Padres played error-free defense behind Tringali.
