Denae Lee delivered the biggest swing of the game Thursday, launching a grand slam to lead Monterey to a 13–3 victory over Monte Vista Christian.
After the teams traded runs in the first inning, Monterey seized control in the second when Lee crushed a grand slam to center field to give the Toreadores the lead. Monterey added four more runs in the third as Jenna Deese singled and a pair of walks brought home additional runs.
The Toreadores extended the advantage in the sixth when Anaiyah Brown hit a two-run home run and Deese followed with a two-run double.
Brooklyn Yamashita earned the win in the circle, allowing three runs over six innings. Lee finished with five RBIs, while Brown and Deese each collected two hits as Monterey drew 12 walks and pulled away.
