Hollister opened its season Thursday against a tough Clovis North squad, but an eight-run third inning helped the Broncos pull away for an 11–2 victory.
The Haybalers struck first in the opening inning when Sophia Galindo lifted a sacrifice fly to bring home the game’s first run. Clovis North answered in the second on a double from Ayla Hamron before breaking the game open in the third with eight runs on eight hits.
Hollister showed some life in the fourth when Avery Chavez launched a solo home run to left field.
Ashlee Lo led the Haybalers with two hits, while Chavez and Galindo each drove in a run. Clovis North finished with 13 hits in the win, led by Riley Grealy’s four RBIs and a three-hit performance from Joss Gonzalez.
