The SCCAL game was played at Soquel High under clear skies and dry field conditions. Soquel had 6 wins and 4 losses in league while Santa Cruz was 10 wins and 0 losses. Santa Cruz had already clinched the league title and Soquel was playing for a CCS playoff berth.

The first half started with both teams aggressively trying to control the ball and mount an attack. Santa Cruz scored in the 12th minute when senior Cesar Aguilar shot the ball into the net after the assist from freshman John Chronopoulos. Santa Cruz had 5 shots on goal the first half while Soquel had 2 shots on goal. The half ended - Santa Cruz 1 to Soquel 0.

The second half started with Santa Cruz picking up the pace and putting pressure on the Soquel defense. In the 52nd minute senior Shakaim Redrovan sent in a pass to freshman Giovanni Giattino who knocked the ball into the goal. Santa Cruz then quickly scored in the 59th minute when senior Shakaim Redrovan scored after the assist from senior Vincent Cheung. Santa Cruz scored in the 73rd minute when freshman Giovanni Giattino passed the ball to senior Shakaim Redrovan who scored the goal. Santa Cruz had 5 shots on goal the second half while Soquel had 3 shots on goal. The game ended - Santa Cruz 4 to Soquel 0.

The Santa Cruz goalkeeper, senior captain Kevin Halasz had 5 saves during the game and the shutout. Kevin Halasz had an awesome game while being aggressive in the goal. Kevin Halasz also had one great save on a penalty shot that kept Soquel off the score board.

The Santa Cruz offensive attack was again relentless with their pressure on the opposing defense. The attack was lead by forwards, senior Cesar Aguilar and freshman John Chronopoulos. The midfielders were lead by senior Shakaim Redrovan, senior Gerardo Hernandez, senior Vince Cheung and freshman Giovanni Giattino. Senior Shakaim Redrovan had a great game scoring 2 goals, 1 assist and had 3 shots on the opposing goal.
