The St Francis Central Coast Catholic Sharks Varsity Women's basketball team won its second game in a row 62-16 against the Anzar Hawks at the Bornina Athletic Center. The Sharks opened the game going 1 for 8 in the first three minutes, started to find their shot which along with six steals gave them a first quarter lead of 17 -2 and they never looked back. The Sharks were led by Sophomore Annette Ruvalcaba who scored her first double-double of the season by pouring in 26 points on 10 for 15 shooting from the field and six for seven shooting at the free throw line. Also contributing were Freshman Kathleen Brown with 15 points, which included going 7 for 9 from the free throw line and 8 rebounds. Junior point guard Jessica Ryan provided 5 assists and 2 steals before being relieved by sophomore point guard Jasmine Oliveres who also had 5 assists and three steals. For the Hawks, Center Jessica Staley had 13 points, point guard Andra Fujita had 2 points and Guard Rachel baker had 1 point. The Sharks garnered 20 steals, 7 blocks and had 7 players who scored. The Sharks (4-3) return to the Borina Athletic Center on Friday, December 16th at 5:30 PM to face the Calvary Chapel Warriors of Pacific Grove.
