Week 7 By The Numbers

939 North Salinas and Live Oak combined for 939 yards of offense and 84 points in a wild 56-28 North Salinas victory. 
103 Palma has exploded for 103 second quarter points: the largest quarter point total for any team in the quad-league area. Hollister is a distant second with 85 points, also scored in the second quarter. 
90  Gonzales and Mt. Eden combined for 879 yards of offense and 90 points in a 52-38 Spartan victory.
75 A 37-7 victory over Gilroy, coupled with Palma's 27-14 victory over Salinas, moved the Hollister defense into the #1 position for least amount of points surrendered (75) in the quad-league area.
89 Palma has scored 89 points in the second quarter this season, which is the top scoring quarter for any team in the quad-league area. Salinas has allowed just 7 points in the second quarter. The teams meet this Friday night at the "Pit".
89 Monterey has surrendered 89 points in the second quarter this season, making it the highest scored-upon quarter for any team in the quad-league area.
19 It was a tough weekend for point-after teams in games involving quad-league area teams. 19 extra points were missed to go along with 15 failed two-point conversions. Gonzales and Mt. Eden took the grand prize, combining for 7 missed extra points and 3 failed 2-point conversions.  
18 Touchdown  watch:

Shawn Benjamin, Watsonville (18 rushing touchdowns):  36, 65, 43, 51, 51, 28, 67, 80, 56, 3, 9, 7, 73, 78, 36, 5, 58, and 45 yards.

Josh Granstrom, Pacific Grove (13 rushing touchdowns) : 1, 56, 6, 3, 28, 74, 9, 1, 25, 14, 3, 3 and 1 yards.

Steven Estrada, Gonzales (12 rushing touchdowns) : 5, 51, 1, 62, 21, 6, 1, 8, 1, 13, 3 and 6 yards.

Ronnie Drummer, North Salinas (10 rushing touchdowns):  53, 33, 79, 12, 83, 76, 25 78, 95, and 9 yards.

7 Soquel's multi-talented Dwight Lowery set a Santa Cruz County record by scoring 7 touchdowns in 54-35 victory over Sacred Heart Cathedral. Lowery rushed for 5 touchdowns, caught a 16 yard touchdown pass, and returned an interception 20 yards for a touchdown. Lowery registered 3 interceptions on the day and also completed a 30 yard pass.
3 Soledad has so far this season been outscored 113-3 in the first half.
