Week 9 By The Numbers

130 It should be an interesting second quarter in this week's Palma vs. Hollister T-CAL showdown. Palma (130) and Hollister (103) are the only two teams in the area to have cracked the century cumulative scoring mark for a single quarter - and both have accomplished it in the second quarter. Hollister's stingy defense has allowed only 22 second quarter points.
46 Scott's Valley limited Harbor to 46 total yards of offense in a 23-0 homecoming victory for the Falcons.
24 Touchdown  watch:

Shawn Benjamin, Watsonville (24 rushing touchdowns):  36, 65, 43, 51, 51, 28, 67, 80, 56, 3, 9, 7, 73, 78, 36, 5, 58, 45, 50, 70, 11, 67, 42 and 67 yards.

Steven Estrada, Gonzales (17 rushing touchdowns) : 5, 51, 1, 62, 21, 6, 1, 8, 1, 13, 3, 6, 1, 60, 13, 14, and 78 yards.

Josh Granstrom, Pacific Grove (14 rushing touchdowns) : 1, 56, 6, 3, 28, 74, 9, 1, 25, 14, 3, 3, 1 and 9 yards.

David Carriedo, Alisal (13 rushing touchdowns) :  58, 2, 1, 48, 14, 1, 7, 11, 1, 2, 3, 2 and 7 yards.

Ronnie Drummer, North Salinas (12 rushing touchdowns):  53, 33, 79, 12, 83, 76, 25 78, 95, 9, 30 and 42 yards.

10 Harbor has been held scoreless for 10 consecutive quarters.
8 Palma has now posted 2 consecutive shutouts, holding opponents scoreless for 8 straight quarters.
8 Alisal has turned the ball over an area-fewest 8 times this season. Five of those turnovers came in their first two games; losses to Palma and Aptos, the Trojan's only losses this season.
0 No league opponent has scored in the double-digits against front-running Aptos. The Mariner defense has allowed 9, 6, 6, 0 and 8 points in SCCAL play.
