Week 12 Notes and Key Stats

  • Pacific Grove has now won 2 consecutive D4 playoff games. The Breakers last playoff loss was last season, a 42-21 loss to Riordan in the first round of the CCS D4 playoffs. Pacific Grove is making its first CCS championship game appearance in football. 
  • Salinas has now won 8 consecutive CCS playoff games on the field. The Cowboys were forced to forfeit 3 playoff wins and the CCS D2 title 1993 due to the use of an ineligible player. Salinas' last true playoff loss was a 31-14 defeat to Santa Clara High in 1983. The Cowboys last won a CCS football title in 1994 by defeating Watsonville 21-16 for the D2 championship. 
  • Hollister has now won 5 consecutive D2 playoff games. The Balers last playoff loss was to Oak Grove, 28-20, in the 1999 D1 finals. The Balers won the CCS  D2 football title last season by defeating Leigh 28-21. 
  • Palma has now won 5 consecutive D1 playoff games. The Chieftains last playoff loss was a to Oak Grove, 28-24, in the 1999 D1 semifinals.  Palma won the CCS  D1 football title last season by defeating Oak Grove 15-14.
